Catarina Barros

Catarina Barros, from Póvoa de Varzim, Porto, Portugal, completed a double master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Minho, Portugal, and in Neuropsychology with a specialization in Neurocognitive Processes and Affective Sciences from the University of Lille, France. She received the award for the highest grade in her Integrated Master's in 2019. After graduation, Catarina was a research fellow at the University of Porto's Faculty of Medicine. Currently, she is interning in Spain at the University of Granada and pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Minho, focusing on the effects of emotional well-being and lifestyle on cognition and their underlying neural correlates.

Sandra Glazer

Sandra Glazer, M.A., is a rising fifth year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, USA. Her research interests lie in the mental health and neurocognitive outcomes of traumatic brain injury and other acquired brain injuries (e.g., stroke, encephalitis, epilepsy) in children and adolescents. She hopes to one day work in an academic medical center assessing and treating children with acquired brain injuries.

Cole J. Kennedy

Cole J. Kennedy is a Doctoral student of Clinical Neuropsychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of Victoria. He is a Student Senator, a member of the CORTEX lab, a Student Affiliate of the Institute on Aging & Lifelong Health and is the Graduate Student Research Lead for the BC Consensus on Brain Injury. Inspired by his clinical experiences supporting survivors of brain injury, Cole’s research aims to better the lives of those struggling with concurrent brain injury, psychiatric disorders, and substance use/addictions through a variety of community-engaged and patient-oriented approaches.

Silvia Oliver Mass: Graduated in Psychology and complemented my academic training with a Master's Degree in Neuropsychology and Master's Degree in General Health Psychology. Currently, she is a PhD student in Biomedical Research on the group of neuroimaging and neuromodulation of the Hospital Clinico San Carlos with my directors Jordi Matias-Guiu and Maria Diez-Cirarda to study in detail the persistent symptoms of COVID-19, specifically fatigue and cognitive dysfunction.

Alba Roca Ventura is a Clinical Neuropsychologist at the Institut Guttmann and a PhD student in the Department of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Barcelona. Her current research focuses on neuroplasticity, neuroimaging, and non-invasive brain stimulation. By integrating neuroscience, neuropsychology, and brain stimulation techniques, she investigates the potential associations between neuroplasticity and lifestyle in both healthy adults and brain tumor patients.

Synopsis:

A lunch time Global Mentorship Program event: In small-group format (two clinician-scientist mentors with about 3-5 mentees), mentees will have the opportunity to ask career development related questions. There will be three sessions/waves in the event, so mentees will get to meet with three separate sets of mentors for about 25 minutes each. Bios of the mentors (from PhD to mid and senior career) will be available in advance to help mentees to choose the best fit for them.
